In our previous post, we outlined three TTROs that were due to come into effect today. From the comments received both on that post, our Facebook Page, direct messages and emails to the Community Council, it was clear the changes were not popular among residents and businesses. We gathered all the feedback and wrote back to Midlothian Council highlighting the concerns raised. Additionally, Councillor Muirhead commented on the Facebook post that these proposals had already been rejected and so it was unclear why the TTROs had been sent out to the Community Council in the first place. Our reply to the Council actually crossed with an email back from them which said: I am writing to advise that we are now NOT proceeding with any of the restrictions in the below noted Orders in our town centres, as outlined in the TTROs sent on Friday as part of our Spaces for People bid to SUStrans. We apologise for any confusion. While we cannot claim that our response had anything to do with the outcome, it is nevertheless welcome! Thank you to everyone who took the time to provide feedback.
Stay safe - and remember to support the businesses on Main Street and throughout Gorebridge.
